Peter HelgesonAT THE MARKET - Case goods and upholstery importer and manufacturer Coe Ltd. has named Peter Helgeson as its new president of the newly formed Coe USA Inc.

Helgeson, who reports to Charles Leung, CEO of Dongguan, China-based Coe Ltd., replaces John Wampler, who left the company's Amelia Home by Coe Ltd. recently to form a new case goods and upholstery resource, JGW Furniture.

Helgeson was most recently managing director of Sourcebynet USA, which handles product development and sales from Asia and Europe for furnishings retailers and wholesalers in North America. Earlier, he was managing director at Woodscape AB, which traded in home furnishings and biofuel products from Eastern Europe and China for customers in Europe, the U.S. and Canada.

Before that he was an executive at Swedish companies Torkelson AB and Myresjokok AB, and worked in business development at Ikea for more than 13 years.

Coe said Helgeson is building a new team to oversee the task of providing product from the company's vertically integrated factories in the Guangdong province of southern China.
